Zillow Group (NASDAQ: Z) [Seattle, WA] announced Kathleen Philips, who has been the company’s Chief Operating Officer since 2013, has been named Chief Financial Officer. She joined the company in 2010 as General Counsel, and has spent the last two years as Chief Operating Officer. With Philips taking over the CFO role, Amy Bohutinsky has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer.
BrainScope Company, Inc. [Bethesda, MD] announced that Laurie Silver has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer. Prior to BrainScope, she served as Director of Mergers and Acquisitions for the Services group at Symantec. Prior to Symantec, Ms. Silver was the Vice President of Finance and Administration of TrueCareers and a Senior Auditor at Ernst & Young LLP.
PR Newswire [New York, NY] welcomed Robert Gray as its new Chief Executive Officer. He was former CFO of PR Newswire’s parent company, UBM plc. Gray joined UBM’s Board as CFO in September 2009 from Codere S.A. where he was CFO from February 2004. Bob began his career at J.P. Morgan and subsequently worked at Deutsche Bank. He is Vice Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Audit Committee of eDreams Odigeo.
Invuity, Inc. (NASDAQ: IVTY) [San Francisco, CA] announced the appointment of medical device financial and operations executive James Mackaness as its Chief Financial Officer. Most recently, Mackaness served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer for IRIDEX Corp. Prior to IRIDEX, Mackaness was the CFO at two privately-held companies.
Adaptive Biotechnologies [Seattle, WA] announced the appointment of Chad Cohen as its new Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Cohen has served on Adaptive’s Board of Directors since March 2015. Most recently, Mr. Cohen served as CFO for Zillow Group. Prior to Zillow, Mr. Cohen worked for Ticketmaster Entertainment as assistant controller and financial integrity manager. Previously, he was vice president and assistant controller for Countrywide Bank and supervising senior auditor at Ernst & Young. He started his career as a financial planning analyst for Novellus Systems. Mr. Cohen also serves as an independent director for Ticketfly. Dean Schorno, Adaptive’s preceding CFO, will step down to pursue a local opportunity.
PierPass Inc. [Long Beach, CA] named Kevin Recker as its Chief Financial Officer. Recker comes to PierPass after serving as Director of Accounting at International Transportation Service Inc. He has also served in senior accounting and audit positions at the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce, Panasonic Disc Services Corp., and with public accounting firms. Recker will replace Tom Stephenson, who is retiring after more than 10 years in the position.
Radiation Business Solutions [Nashville, TN] announced that Rick MacLean has been named as the new Chief Financial Officer. MacLean has more than 12 years of healthcare executive experience, including eight years in the oncology pharmaceutical development and distribution space with Adria Labs (Pfizer Pharma), Oncology Therapeutics Network (McKesson Specialty), and with Anaquest. He most recently served as CFO/COO of Jamison Incorporated. Former CFO Marsha Priester will continue to serve in an advisory capacity as MacLean transitions into his new role, and will remain active with the Boards of Directors.
PatientSafe Solutions [San Diego, CA] announced the appointment of Balaji Sekar to the position of chief financial officer. He began his career working in financial planning and analysis then transitioned into healthcare, working as CFO for Sutherland Healthcare Solutions, and most recently as interim CFO for Sutherland Global Services.
Novelis [Atlanta, GA] announced that it has named Steve Fisher as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Fisher previously held the position of Chief Financial Officer and has been serving as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer since April 2015.
FLIR Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLIR) [Wilsonville, OR] announced that Amit Singhi has joined the Company as Senior Vice President, Finance, and Chief Financial Officer, replacing interim CFO Dave Muessle, who will remain Vice President, Corporate Controller and Principal Accounting Officer. Mr. Singhi most recently led the finance organization of Ford Motor Company’s Global Customer Service Division. Previously, Mr. Singhi was CFO of Ford South America which was preceded by several global finance, operational, and R&D positions at Ford and General Motors.
Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC) [St. Louis, MO] announced that William Scheffel, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, has advised the company of his intention to retire. The Board has designated Jeffrey Schwaneke, Senior Vice President, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer as Chief Financial Officer when Mr. Scheffel steps down. Mr. Schwaneke has over 18 years of experience, including over 11 years at Fortune 500 companies.
Marathon Pharmaceuticals, LLC [Northbrook, IL] named Babar Ghias its chief financial officer. Ghias most recently served as Marathon’s vice president of strategy and corporate development. Previously, Ghias worked for Credit Suisse in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group. Early in his career, he was an analyst for the Investment Banking Group at UBS Securities Asia Pacific.
Coupons.com Incorporated (NYSE: COUP) [Mountain View, CA] announced Jennifer Ceran to the executive management team as Chief Financial Officer. Ceran comes to Coupons.com from Box, Inc., where she served as Vice President of Finance. Prior to joining Box in 2012, she spent nearly a decade at eBay Inc. in varying global roles, including VP Investor Relations, VP Financial Planning & Analysis and VP Treasurer. Ceran also spent more than a decade at Sara Lee Corporation, where she held various finance roles across corporate development, FP&A and treasury in domestic and international markets.
Hooper Holmes, Inc. (NYSE: HH) [Olathe, KS] is appointing Steven Balthazor Interim Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Balthazor’s appointment reflects the decision by Tom Collins, SVP and Chief Financial Officer of Hooper Holmes, to accept a new opportunity as chief operating officer with a private company. Mr. Balthazor has recently served as the Principal of J. Galt Financial. Previously, he was Vice President of Finance for Digital Globe and Vice President of Finance and Interim Chief Financial Officer for GeoEye, Inc. He has also held prior executive positions including corporate treasurer and head of mergers and acquisitions.
BioPharmX Corporation (NYSE: BPMX) [Menlo Park, CA] has appointed 20-year finance veteran Greg Kitchener to be executive vice president of finance and chief financial officer. Mr. Kitchener most recently served as vice president of finance at Cepheid. He previously held financial leadership positions at Synopsys and Cisco Systems. Earlier, he worked at Charles Schwab and Waddell & Reed.
Cepheid (NASDAQ: CPHD) [Sunnyvale, CA] announced the departure of Ilan Daskal who held the position of Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer. The company also announced the appointment of Dan Madden to the position of Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Madden has served as Cepheid’s Vice President and Corporate Controller since June 2014 and, from February through April 2015, also served as Cepheid’s Acting Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Cepheid, Mr. Madden most recently served as Vice President Finance and Investor Relations, Vice President, Corporate Controller of Symmetricom, Inc., and Vice President and Corporate Controller of Sonic Solutions.
Daseke Inc. [Addison, TX] has elected Laura Wright to its board of directors. Wright is the retired chief financial officer of Southwest Airlines Co., serving in that position and as senior vice president of finance from 2004 through September 2012.
Xplore Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: XPLR) [Austin, TX] announced it has retained Tom Wilkinson as interim CFO. Tom replaces Michael Rapisand, departing CFO. Wilkinson was a founding partner of PMB Helin Donovan and left the firm as Managing Partner in December 2013, after twelve years. Wilkinson left PMB Helin Donovan to become CFO of Amherst Holdings. Prior to co-founding PMB Helin Donovan, Wilkinson worked for Dell and then as CFO of Credit Suisse First Boston subsidiary Calmco Servicing.
PCS Edventures!.com, Inc. (OTC: PCSV) [Boise, ID] has signed a Memo of Understanding with Gordon Smith, who will be contributing direction and expertise on organizational development and processes for the purposes of accelerating growth. Mr. Smith is the former CFO and CEO at Simplot Corp. He is also a former founding Director and 27-year board member of Micron Technology.
Halitron, Inc. (OTC: HAON) [Newtown, CT] announced that it has appointed Jeffrey Rubinstein the new President and Chief Financial Officer of KozyFurniture, LLC. Rubinstein began his career in Finance and Marketing at Anixter, Inc and then U.S. Robotics. He went on to own two The UPS Stores for nine years and a FastSigns store for two years. Jeff has held various financial, marketing, and sales positions at Chase Bank, Kelly Services, and Sunbelt Business Brokers before joining KozyFurniture as President and CFO.
The Timken Company (NYSE: TKR) [North Canton, OH] elected James Palmer, retired CFO of Northrop Grumman Corp., a director of the company. For the eight years prior to his retirement in 2015, Palmer served as corporate vice president and chief financial officer of Northrop Grumman Corporation. Palmer’s career also includes positions as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Visteon Corporation; senior vice president and president of Boeing Capital Corporation; and senior vice president and chief financial officer of McDonnell Douglas Corporation. He began his career as an audit partner with Ernst & Young in St. Louis.
Edmentum [Minneapolis, MN] announced that Rob Rueckl, the company’s Chief Financial Officer, has been appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer. Rueckl has been the company’s Chief Financial Officer since January 2007.
Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (NASDAQ: AMCC) [Santa Clara, CA] announced that Douglas Ahrens, the Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and principal financial and accounting officer of the company intends to resign his employment. The Company retained Karen Rogge, President of RYN Group, LLC as interim CFO. Ms. Rogge has been President of RYN Group, LLC since its founding in October 2010. Previously, Ms. Rogge served as senior vice president and CFO at Extreme Networks, Inc. from April 2007 to July 2009. Prior to that Ms. Rogge was the vice president of corporate finance, treasurer and principal accounting officer of Seagate Technology from January 2004 to November 2006. Earlier in her career, she held executive financial, operations and general management positions at Inktomi Corporation and Hewlett Packard Company.
Platform Specialty Products Corporation (NYSE: PAH) [West Palm Beach, FL] announced that Sanjiv Khattri will be joining as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Khattri has over 25 years of experience most recently as the Chief Financial Officer of Covanta Holding Corporation. Prior to his role at Covanta, Mr. Khattri served as the Chief Financial Officer of General Motors Acceptance Corporation. Mr. Khattri began his career in the treasury department of General Motors and he became Assistant Treasurer of GM in 2001 following which he joined GMAC as its Chief Financial Officer. Platform’s current Chief Financial Officer, Frank Monteiro, will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer of the soon-to-be expanded Performance Applications segment.
