DaVita Inc. [DENVER] (NYSE: DVA) announced that Joel Ackerman will join the company and will become its chief financial officer. He replaces Jim Hilger, who has served as the company’s interim chief financial officer since 2015, and will continue in his role as chief accounting officer, a position he has held since 2010. Ackerman is chief executive officer and a board member at Champions Oncology, and has been in that role since 2010. Prior to Champions Oncology, Ackerman was at Warburg Pincus from 1993 to 2008, where he was a partner and headed up the healthcare services group. Ackerman has served on the board of directors of Kindred Healthcare since 2008, and served on the board of directors of Coventry Health Care. He is also chair of the One Acre Fund.
Shake Shack Inc. [NEW YORK] (NYSE: SHAK) announced that Jeff Uttz will retire as Chief Financial Officer.
Credico North America [CHICAGO] has named Nate Arnett its new chief financial officer for Credico USA and Credico Marketing in Canada. Prior to joining Credico, Arnett worked as an external auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers and spent the majority of his career at Alvarez & Marsal.
Alevo [CONCORD, N.C.] announced the appointment of Peter Heintzelman as Group Chief Financial Officer. Heintzelman joins from T5 Oil & Gas, where he was CFO. His previous experience includes Head of Energy roles with Standard Bank, and senior management positions at Halliburton and Enron.
Calumet Specialty Products Partners, L.P. [INDIANAPOLIS] (NASDAQ: CLMT) has named D. West Griffin as the Partnership’s Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He replaces Patrick Murray, the Company’s former Chief Financial Officer, who will serve in the new position of VP & Chief Accounting Officer at Calumet. Mr. Griffin joins Calumet from Energy XXI, where he was one of the three founders and also served as Chief Financial Officer from 2005 to 2014. Prior to joining Energy XXI, Mr. Griffin served as CFO at Alon USA, and as CFO of InterGen North America. Mr. Griffin began his career as an investment banker, working for both BT Securities and UBS.
T. Rowe Price Group [BALTIMORE] (NASDAQ-GS: TROW) announced that Kenneth V. Moreland, its chief financial officer (CFO), will retire in 2017 after 13 years at the firm and nearly 40 years of accounting, finance, and broad management experience. The firm will begin the search for a new CFO immediately. Prior to joining T. Rowe Price in March, 2004, Ken was a senior vice president, chief financial officer and director with RTKL Associates, Inc. Prior to that, he was a Client Service Partner for Coopers & Lybrand. Additionally, he completed a two-year accounting fellowship with the Securities and Exchange Commission. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of the Baltimore Development Corporation, University of Maryland Medical Systems, and Messiah College.
Checkmarx [NEW YORK] today announced Shmuel Arvatz as the company’s new chief financial officer (CFO). Before joining Checkmarx, Mr. Arvatz was the CFO of Allot Communications. Additionally, Mr. Arvatz gained extensive experience as the CFO of ClickSoftware. He also served as CFO and executive vice president of Tecnomatix Technologies Ltd.
Coach, Inc. [NEW YORK] (NYSE: COH) announced the appointment of Kevin G. Wills as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Wills joins Coach from AlixPartners LLP, where he has served as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer since March 2014. Prior to AlixPartners, Mr. Wills was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Saks Incorporated, owner of the Saks Fifth Avenue, Saks.com and Off 5th franchises, where he worked for nearly 16 years in various finance, strategic-planning, administration and operations positions. Before joining Saks Inc., Mr. Wills served as Vice President and Controller for Tennessee Valley Authority. Mr. Wills started his career in 1988 as a Business Assurance Manager for Coopers and Lybrand (now known as PwC). In addition, Mr. Wills is currently Chairman of the Board of Healthways, Inc., where he has been a Director since 2012.
C&A Industries [OMAHA, NE] announced the hiring of Fred Froehlich as chief financial officer. Froehlich began his career in public accounting with Ernst & Young. Prior to joining C&A, he held various senior leadership positions with global companies.
IDEX CORPORATION [LAKE FOREST, Ill.] (NYSE: IEX) announced that William K. Grogan has been appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Company. He replaces Michael J. Yates, who has served as the Company’s Interim Chief Financial Officer since September 2016, and will resume his position as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. Mr. Grogan has been at IDEX for five years and has served as Vice President of Finance, Operations since 2015. Prior to that, he was Chief Financial Officer for the Company’s Health and Science Technologies and Fire, Safety and Diversified Technologies segments from 2012 to 2015. Before joining IDEX Corporation, Mr. Grogan most recently served as Director of Finance, Store Operations at Walgreen Company from 2011 to 2012.
Monotype Imaging Holdings Inc. [WOBURN, Mass.] (NASDAQ: TYPE) announced it has appointed Anthony Callini as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President. He succeeds President and CEO Scott Landers, who was serving as interim Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Monotype, Callini served from 2013 to 2016 as the Senior Vice President of Finance at Avid Technologies. From 2004 to 2013, Callini held a number of financial leadership positions at Open Solutions, Inc., most recently as the Senior Vice President – Finance and Treasurer. Prior to Open Solutions, Callini held financial leadership positions with Ernst & Young LLP and Arthur Andersen LLP.
The Gorman-Rupp Company [MANSFIELD, Ohio] (NYSE MKT: GRC) has appointed James C. Kerr to the position of Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Kerr joined the company in July 2016 as Vice President of Finance. Previously he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Jo-Ann Stores, Inc. Mr. Kerr was with Jo-Ann Stores, Inc. for the prior 17 years.
Catapult Learning, Inc. [CAMDEN, N.J.] announced the hiring of Chris Catalano as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Catapult Learning, Catalano served notably, from 2009 to 2014, as Chairman and CEO of the School of Rock. Catalano also spent five years as CFO and Chief Investment Officer of McDonald’s Ventures.
Enesco, LLC [ITASCA, Ill.] announced the appointment of Anthony G. Testolin as its Chief Financial Officer. Most recently, he held the positions of Chief Accounting Officer and Interim Chief Financial Officer for the Company. Mr. Testolin joined Enesco in 2005 as Corporate Controller and was promoted to Chief Accounting Officer later that same year. He assumed the additional responsibility of Interim Chief Financial Officer in May 2016. Prior to joining Enesco, Mr. Testolin held the positions of divisional Chief Financial Officer for a graphic arts company. He also was a Corporate Controller for a horticultural company. Mr. Testolin’s career began when he was an Audit and Financial Consulting Manager at Arthur Andersen in Chicago.
Mattersight Corporation [CHICAGO, IL] (NASDAQ: MATR) announced that David Mullen has joined the company as its Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Mullen is currently on the Mattersight Board of Directors, and will remain on the board while serving as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Mullen is the former Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Navteq Corporation, having held that position from December 2002 to January 2010. Prior to joining Navteq, he served as President and Chief Financial Officer of Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, Inc. Prior to joining Allscripts, Mr. Mullen was CFO of Enterprise Systems, and prior to that, CFO of CCC Information Services.
Winnebago Industries, Inc. [FOREST CITY, IA] (NYSE: WGO) announced the appointment of Richard D. Moss to its Board of Directors. Moss is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Hanesbrands Inc. Moss has served as CFO since 2011. Since joining HanesBrands in 2006, he has also held the positions of Chief Treasury and Tax Officer and Treasurer. Prior to joining HanesBrands, Moss served as CFO of Chattem, Inc. He was also previously Vice President and Treasurer of Sealy Corporation and Group Treasurer for Ansaldo STS.
Zogenix, Inc. [EMERYVILLE, Calif.] (NASDAQ: ZGNX) announced that Ann D. Rhoads, Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Secretary, will depart Zogenix following a transition period. Michael P. Smith, most recently Chief Financial Officer at Raptor Pharmaceutical Corp., has been appointed to fill the position. Most recently, Mr. Smith served as Chief Financial Officer of Raptor. Prior to Raptor, Mr. Smith served as Chief Financial and Business Advisor at Catalyst Biosciences from May 2012 to January 2015. Previously, he was Vice President of Business Development at iPierian, Inc., and from June 2006 to July 2009, he served as Head of Business Development and Chief Financial Officer of Memory Pharmaceuticals Corporation.
Ascent Capital Group Inc. (NASDAQ: ASCMA) announced that Michael Meyers, Chief Financial Officer of Ascent and its wholly owned subsidiary, MONI, has announced his intention to retire from the Company by year end. Mr. Meyers has served as Chief Financial Officer of MONI since 1996 and has served as Chief Financial Officer of Ascent since it acquired MONI in 2010. Mr. Meyers joined MONI in July, 1996.
Live Ventures Incorporated [LAS VEGAS] announced the appointment of Virland A. Johnson as its chief financial officer. Prior to joining Live Ventures, he served as senior director of revenue at Scottsdale. Prior to that, he held various financial positions throughout the Scottsdale area, including Cultural Experiences Abroad, Inc., Chamberlain Group, Inc. and Fender Musical Instruments. In addition, he has held operational positions at Keisler Enterprises, Inc., where he served as president, Unitech Industries, where he served as CEO, Innovative Environmental Products, Inc., where he served as chief operating officer and at Cultural Experiences Abroad, where he also served as executive vice president of operations.
Amyris, Inc. [EMERYVILLE, Calif.] (NASDAQ: AMRS), announced the appointment of Kathleen Valiasek as Chief Financial Officer. She replaces Raffi Asadorian, who has resigned to pursue a new opportunity. Prior to joining Amyris, Valiasek was Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lenox Group, Inc. Prior to that, she served in key venture capital, real estate development and accounting roles.
Cambrex Corporation [East Rutherford, NJ] (NYSE: CBM) announced the hiring of Tom Vadaketh as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Greg Sargen, CFO at Cambrex, will transition to a newly-created role, Executive Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategy. Mr. Vadaketh was most recently the CFO of the Crosby Group. Prior to that, he spent nine years in a variety of increasingly senior financial positions at Tyco International. In his last role at Tyco, he served as Vice President, Finance, Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis and CFO of Global Products. Prior to his time at Tyco, Mr. Vadaketh spent 15 years in a variety of senior financial roles at Proctor & Gamble. Tom started his career at Deloitte and Touche in the United Kingdom.
Connecture, Inc. [BROOKFIELD, Wis.] (NASDAQ: CNXR) announced that Vincent Estrada has joined the Company as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Estrada joins Connecture from HealthMEDX, LLC, where he served as CFO and Executive Vice President of Business Development.
Voyager Therapeutics, Inc. [CAMBRIDGE, Mass.] (NASDAQ: VYGR) announced the appointment of Jane Pritchett Henderson as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Ms. Henderson most recently served as chief financial and business officer of Kolltan Pharmaceuticals, Inc., having joined the biopharmaceutical company in 2013. Previously, Ms. Henderson served as vice president, business development of ISTA Pharmaceuticals, Inc., from June 2010 to June 2012. Prior to ISTA Pharmaceuticals, Ms. Henderson also served as the chief financial officer and head of business development at Axerion Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and as chief financial officer and chief business officer of Panacos Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Ms. Henderson currently serves on the Board of Directors of Eleven Biotherapeutics, Inc.
Monro Muffler Brake, Inc. [ROCHESTER, N.Y.] (NASDAQ: MNRO) announced that Brian J. D’Ambrosia has been appointed the Company’s Chief Financial Officer. Mr. D’Ambrosia succeeds Catherine D’Amico, a long-term veteran of Monro, who will remain with the Company as Director of Special Projects at least through August 2018. Most recently, Mr. D’Ambrosia served as Vice President of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer. Prior to joining Monro, Mr. D’Ambrosia’s roles included nearly three years as Regional Controller of Robbins & Meyers and five years at Birds Eye Foods, including in the position of Controller. Mr. D’Ambrosia also held the role of Chief Financial Officer of sports entertainment company, Rochester Sports Group and spent nearly six years at Deloitte & Touche, including in the role of Audit Manager.
