Reitmans (Canada) Limited [MONTREAL] announced the appointment of Richard Wait, Vice-President Comptroller of the Company, as Vice-President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of the Company, effective on August 17, 2018, and the retirement of Eric Williams, effective on the same date.
The Empire Life Insurance Company [KINGSTON, Ontario] (TSX: EML.PR.A) announced the appointment of Senior Vice-President and Chief Actuary Edward Gibson as its Chief Financial Officer. Gibson became Senior Vice-President and Chief Actuary at Empire Life in June 2008. Mr. Gibson replaces Ron Friesen who is leaving the Company.
Fortis Inc. [ST. JOHN’S, Newfoundland and Labrador] (TSX: FTS, NYSE: FTS) announced the appointment of Jocelyn Perry as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer at Fortis effective June 1, 2018. Karl Smith, current Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, will retire May 31, 2018 after more than 30 years with Fortis. Perry has an extensive career in the utility business, having worked at Newfoundland Power for the past 13 years in a variety of capacities, including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and for the past year as President and Chief Executive Officer. Jocelyn is a prior Director of Finance at Fortis in the early 2000s, and previously served in other financial capacities in the private sector.
High Arctic Energy Services Inc. [CALGARY] (TSX: HWO) announced the departure of its Chief Financial Officer, Brian Peters effective May 18th, 2018. James (Jim) Hodgson, a member of the Board of Directors, has agreed to accept the appointment of Chief Financial Officer, effective May 18, 2018. Since Mr. Hodgson will become an officer of the Company, he has agreed not to stand for re-election to the Board of Directors at the Annual Meeting of Shareholders on May 10th, 2018. Hodgson is a seasoned corporate executive with considerable experience as the Chief Financial Officer of several resource companies operating in Canada and internationally. Most recently, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Sino Gas and Energy Holdings Ltd.
Profound Medical Corp. [TORONTO] (TSX-V: PRN, OTCQX: PRFMF) announced that Aaron Davidson has been appointed Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice-President of Corporate Development. Most recently, he was Co-Head and Managing Director of H.I.G. BioHealth Partners. Mr. Davidson began his career with Eli Lilly and Company, where he spent a decade in various operating management roles in the United States and Canada, including financial management, business development, strategic planning, market research and general management. Mr. Davidson continues to serve as Venture Partner at H.I.G. and on the board of directors of HyperBranch Medical Technology, Intact Vascular and On Target Laboratories.
Orion Biotechnology Canada Ltd. [OTTAWA] announced that Jason Burke has been appointed Chief Financial Officer effective immediately. Prior to joining Orion, he served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Conversant Intellectual Property Management. He also served as CAO of Massachusetts-based AVID Technologies. Before moving to Massachusetts, Mr. Burke served as CFO of the Business Analytics division of IBM (Formerly Cognos). Mr. Burke started his career with Deloitte & Touche LLP, where he was Manager in the Assurance and Advisory Services Group.
Affinor Growers Inc. [VANCOUVER] (CSE: AFI, OTCQB: RSSFF) announced the appointment of Randy Minhas as the Company’s new Chief Financial Officer. Minhas has served as Director, Chief Financial Officer and Controller for several publicly traded companies since 2011. Mr. Minhas currently serves as the Lead Independent Director and Audit Committee Chair of Clean Seed Capital Corp. In addition, Mr. Minhas is currently serving as the Group Controller for Rye Patch Gold Corp., a role he will transition out of once Rye Patch completes its merger with Alio Gold Inc. Sam Chaudhry has resigned as Chief Financial Officer of the Company.
