Liquor Stores N.A. Ltd. [EDMONTON] (TSX: LIQ) announced that David Gordey, the Company’s former Chief Financial Officer (2014-2016) will resume that responsibility as of April 13, 2018. Mr. Gordey is currently the Company’s President and Chief Operating Officer. Matthew Rudd, the Company’s Chief Financial Officer since July 2016, will remain in his position and assist in an orderly transition until Mr. Gordey assumes his role, after which he will be departing to pursue another opportunity.
Tilray Inc. [TORONTO] announced that Mark Castaneda has joined the company as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Previously, he served as CFO and led initial public offerings for high-growth companies such as Primo Water Corporation, Pike Electric, Inc., and Blue Rhino Corp. He currently serves as Audit Committee Chair on the Board of Directors of Ranir Global Holdings, LLC.
TMAC Resources Inc. [TORONTO] (TSX: TMR) appointed Maarten Theunissen as Chief Financial Officer effective April 1, 2018. Mr. Theunissen joined the Company as Vice President, Finance in May 2013 from Uranium One Inc. where, from 2006 to 2013, he held roles of increasing responsibility including Senior Vice President, Finance.
Orla Mining Ltd. [VANCOUVER] (TSX-V: OLA) announced that Etienne Morin will be joining the executive team at Orla as Chief Financial Officer. Paul Robertson will step down as Chief Financial Officer, and Mr. Morin will assume the role effective April 30, 2018. Morin joins Orla from Goldcorp Inc. where he spent the last 11 years in various finance and operations roles.
Max Resource Corp. [Vancouver] (TSX-V: MXR, OTC Pink: MXROF) announced the appointment of Alexander Helmel as Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Mr. Helmel has served as CFO and director of several junior mining and early stage venture companies within the Canadian capital markets including Lateral Gold Corp., Fandom Sports Media Corp., Tasca Resources Ltd., Giyani Gold Corp. and Windfire Capital Corp. Helmel replaces Mark Gelmon, who has resigned as Chief Financial Officer in order to focus on his other long-term business commitments.
Fountain Asset Corp. [TORONTO] (TSX-V: FA) announced that David Darakjian, interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Company, has tendered his resignation. Darakjian will be leaving to work with one of Fountain’s investee companies.
SMTC Corporation [TORONTO] (NASDAQ: SMTX) announced that it has appointed Steve Waszak as Chief Financial Officer and Sr. Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions. He replaces outgoing CFO, Roger Dunfield, who is retiring. Waszak, has more than 20 years of experience from companies including BTI Systems, Zetera Corporation, Sonoma Systems, Ciena Corporation and SMTEK International. Waszak joined SMTC in February 2018 as Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions. Prior to SMTC, he served as CFO at Connected-Holdings, LLC. Earlier, as CEO and President of BTI Systems. Waszak’s C-Suite experience also includes serving as COO/CFO at Zetera Corporation and at SONOMA Systems. Following the acquisition of Internet Photonics (a Bell Labs spin-out), where he held the position of CFO/COO, Waszak served as Vice President of Global Sales Operation for Ciena Corporation. Waszak has guided companies as a member of the Board of Directors of private entities and publicly traded SMTEK International.
