Hot Topic, Inc. (NASDAQ: HOTT) announced that Jim McGinty has resigned as Chief Financial Officer, effective March 29, 2013. George Wehlitz, VP, Finance, will serve as the Interim Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Wehlitz joined Hot Topic, Inc. in 2008 as VP, Finance. From November, 2005 to January, 2008, he was Chief Financial Officer at Cycle Gear, Inc. Mr. Wehlitz joined Hot Topic, Inc. in February, 2002 as Vice President, Controller, and then served as Vice President, Finance from August, 2003 to November, 2005. Previously, from August, 2000 to February, 2002, Mr. Wehlitz was Chief Financial Officer at The Popcorn Factory.
Anika Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: ANIK) announced the appointment of Sylvia Cheung as the company’s Chief Financial Officer, effective April 1, 2013. Cheung, who has served as Anika’s Vice President for Strategic Processes since February 2012, will succeed Kevin W. Quinlan, who is leaving Anika effective March 31, 2013. Prior to her current position as Vice President of Strategic Processes, Cheung served as General Manager for the company’s Italy-based subsidiary, Anika Srl. She joined Anika as Controller in 2005. Prior to Anika, she held a series of progressively responsible financial management positions at Transkaryotic Therapies, Inc.
iTalk, Inc. (OTC: SOPC) announced that Richard Dea has joined the Company as its new CFO, Treasurer and Director. From April 1990 to the present, he has served as president of SAE Group of Delray Beach, Florida, a former Division of Inzon Corporation.
Optimal, Inc. announced that Paul Suh has joined the company as its Chief Financial Officer. Paul was most recently SVP of Finance and Operations at LiveGamer. Prior to that, Paul was the CFO and COO of GamerDNA Media, which was acquired by Live Gamer in June 2010
Alleghany Corporation (NYSE: Y) announced today that it will expand its executive leadership team by separating the role of Chief Financial Officer from management of Alleghany’s approximately $16 billion fixed income portfolio. Accordingly, Roger B. Gorham will assume overall responsibility for Alleghany’s fixed income portfolio and will no longer serve as Chief Financial Officer once a successor is identified. Mr. Gorham will serve as Alleghany’s Senior Vice President and acting Chief Financial Officer until a successor is identified, at which time Mr. Gorham will be named as Senior Vice President – Head of Fixed Income and Treasurer.
TNI BioTech, Inc. (PINK: TNIB) announced that Peter Aronstam has been appointed Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Aronstam is replacing Christopher Pearce , who will take over as the Chief Operating Officer. Peter has advised and/or served as CFO in both publicly held and privately owned businesses since 1978.
IndCor welcomes John Collins as Chief Financial Officer. Collins joined IndCor in September 2012. Prior to his joining IndCor as Chief Financial Officer, Collins was the Chief Accounting Officer at Pearlmark Real Estate Partners. Preceding his position at Pearlmark, Collins was an auditor at Ernst & Young, where he audited Equity Office’s various SEC filings.
Bizzingo, Inc. (OTC: BIZZ) appointed Dipak Joshi as its Chief Financial Officer. Concurrent with the stated appointment, Douglas Toth resigned as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer, however remains as the Company’s Vice Chairman. Dipak began in accounting in controller functions at Siemens. He moved to eCommerce at eBay, focused on M&A, before joining Google’s finance department. Recently, he served as SVP Finance for FuzeBox.
Osage Exploration and Development, Inc. (OTC: OEDV) entered into a CFO Consulting Agreement with Norman Dowling to serve as a part-time Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Mr. Dowling has over 20 years of finance experience, including four years as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Active Network, Inc., and four years as Vice President Finance, at PETCO Animal Supplies, Inc. Mr. Dowling also served as Chief Financial Officer of Factory 2U Stores, Inc. and CinemaStar Luxury Theatres, Inc.
Crestwood Midstream Partners LP (NYSE: CMLP) announced that William G. Manias, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Crestwood Gas Services GP LLC (the company’s general partner) has left the Company to pursue other opportunities. Steven M. Dougherty was appointed Senior Vice President and will assume the role of Interim Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Dougherty will remain in his position as the Company’s Chief Accounting Officer. Mr. Dougherty has served as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer of the Company since joining the Company in June 2012. Prior to joining the Company he most recently served as Director of Corporate Accounting at El Paso Corporation, from 2001 to May 2012.
Legal Life Plans, Inc. (OTC: LLFP) announced that Terry Kupfer was appointed as the Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Kupfer was an audit partner and Audit Practice Director – Arthur Anderson LLP, 1970 – 1997, Los Angeles, CA. Mr. Kupfer is currently a member of the Board of Trustees for the University of Redlands (CA).
Data I/O Corporation (NASDAQ: DAIO) appointed Mark Gallenberger to the Board. Mark Gallenberger has served as the Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of LTX-Credence Corporation (NASDAQ: LTXC), a manufacturer of semiconductor test equipment, which he joined in 2000. For the six years prior, he was Vice President/Senior Manager with Ernst &Young (Cap Gemini) in their consulting practice.
Allegiance announced that Dana Russell has been appointed chief financial officer (CFO). Russell was formerly the senior vice president and chief financial officer at Novell. Prior to his tenure as CFO at Novell, Russell held other senior finance positions at Novell, WordPerfect and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
EcoScraps announced that Ron Ross has been named the company’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Ross was most recently Vice President of Finance and Principal Accounting Officer at Skullcandy Inc.
LifeNexus announced that John Sines has been named Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Sines most recently served as Chief Financial Officer for Corticon Technologies, Inc. Mr. Sines has also served as Chief Financial Officer for a number of other venture-backed and publicly held companies, including ClairMail, Inc., AppStream Inc., Viquity Corporation, Versity.com and E-H International, Inc.
Mountain America Credit Union announced that Chad Curtis has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer, replacing long-time CFO David Kwant, who retired. Curtis was senior vice president of finance at Mountain America for nine years. He previously worked for Grant Thornton LLP.
American Electric Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AETI) announced that Andrew Puhala has joined the company as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Puhala was most recently chief financial officer at Artificial Lift Company. Prior to his tenure at Artificial Lift, Puhala spent 15 years at Baker Hughes Incorporated, where he held senior financial roles including vice president of finance, corporate development, assistant treasurer, division controller, and region finance vice president with expatriate assignments in Europe and the Middle East.
Keating Capital, Inc. (NASDAQ: KIPO) announced that Stephen M. Hills submitted his resignation as the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer effective February 20, 2013. The company has appointed Frederic M. Schweiger to serve as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, replacing Mr. Hills, effective February 20, 2013. Mr. Schweiger currently serves as a director of the Company and its Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. Mr. Schweiger also is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of the Company’s investment adviser, Keating Investments, LLC, and serves as a member of Keating Investments’ investment committee.
Homeland Resources Ltd. (OTC: HMLA) announced that Paul Maniscalco has been appointed as its Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Since 2006, Mr. Maniscalco has been a Principal with SJM Holdings, Inc. Prior to joining SJM, Mr. Maniscalco was a Senior Audit Manager with Sherb & Co., LLP located in Boca Raton, Florida.
Carver Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: CARV), the holding company for Carver Federal Savings Bank announced that Mark A. Ricca, its current Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, has announced his intention to resign, effective February 15, 2013, to accept a Chief Executive Officer’s position at another institution. The company has appointed David Toner, Senior Vice President and Controller for the past four years, as Acting Chief Financial Officer, effective February 15, 2013. Mr. Toner joined Carver in 2009 after more than 20 years with Citigroup in various financial control positions in the United States and Europe, including serving as Chief Financial Officer of Citigroup’s Community Development business from 2004 through 2007.
Popular, Inc. (NASDAQ: BPOP) announced today that Carlos J. Vázquez, currently President of Popular Community Bank, will become Chief Financial Officer of the Company, effective as of March 15, 2013. Mr. Vázquez will succeed Jorge Junquera, who will assume the new role of Vice Chairman and Special Assistant to the CEO.
Revolution Lighting Technologies, Inc. announced the appointment of Charles J. Schafer as President and Chief Financial Officer. Charlie will replace Mike Bauer , who served as President and CEO and will be departing the company for new opportunities. Charlie has held senior management positions at several companies including L-3 Communications, Corp., Lockheed Martin and Loral Corp.
Bessemer Venture Partners announced that Entrepreneur-in-Residence Jeff Epstein will move into an operating partner role. Jeff is the former Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Oracle. Prior to Oracle, Epstein served as CFO of several public and private companies, including DoubleClick (sold to Google), King World Productions (sold to CBS) and Nielsen’s Media Measurement and Information Group. Earlier, he was an investment banker at The First Boston Corporation. He serves on the Boards of Directors of publicly held Priceline.com and Shutterstock, the Board of the Bessemer portfolio company Zoosk, the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Stanford University Hospital, and the Management Board of the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Jeff will continue in his role as a Senior Advisor at Oak Hill Capital’s technology group.
Solis Women’s Health announced that Mano Mahadeva has been appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Prior to assuming the position of CFO at Solis, Mr. Mahadeva was the Executive Director, North Texas Region, for U.S. Oncology Network, a division of McKesson Corporation. Prior to U.S. Oncology, Mr. Mahadeva held positions of financial responsibility at Physician Reliance Network, Texas Orthopedic Associates and Associated Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.
Tenex Health, Inc. announced that it has appointed Rom Papadopoulos, M.D. as Chief Financial Officer of the Company. He will also continue to serve as a member of the company’s Board of Directors. Rom’s career spans over 25 years in the healthcare and technology services industries. He most recently served as Managing Partner of Intuitus Group LLC.
Active Power (NASDAQ: ACPW) announced that it has named Thomas Patrick Kelly to the company’s board. Kelly currently serves as interim CFO for Panera Bread Company (NASDAQ: PNRA). Prior to joining Panera in April 2012, Kelly was interim CFO for Hawker Beechcraft Corp. Before joining Hawker Beechcraft, he served as interim CEO at ExpressJet. Kelly has also held a number of senior financial positions at Vignette Corp., which was acquired by Open Text Corp.; Dell, Inc.; Trilogy Enterprises; Sabre Holdings; and American Airlines.
Security National Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: SNFCA) appointed Garrett S. Sill to serve as the Company’s Acting Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Garrett Sill replaces Stephen M. Sill, who served as the Company’s Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer from 2002 until his recent retirement. Mr. Stephen Sill had also served as Vice President and Controller of the Company from 1997 to 2002. Garrett Sill is the son of Stephen Sill. Prior to his appointment as the Company’s Acting Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Garrett Sill had been serving since 2011 as Vice President and Assistant Treasurer of Security National Life Insurance Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company. From 2002 to 2011, Garrett Sill was Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of SecurityNational Mortgage Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company. From 1997 to 2002, Mr. Sill was Vice President and Controller of SecurityNational Mortgage Company.
Daegis Inc. (NASDAQ: DAEG) announced that Chief Financial Officer Steven Bonham will step down in February 2013. The Board has appointed Steve Baker Interim CFO. Mr. Baker is a Partner with Tatum, a national Executive Services consulting company, with more than 25 years of experience. Most recently, he held an Interim Executive Placement with Plug and Play Tech Center serving as advisor and mentor to its executive team. Prior to that, he was the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Frontrange Solutions. Previously, he was the Vice President of Revenue Operations for PeopleSoft. He also served in Vice President and CFO roles at Roamware and Geoworks Corp.
Bazaarvoice, Inc. (NASDAQ: BV) appointed Jim Offerdahl as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. Offerdahl succeeds Stephen Collins, who was appointed as Chief Executive Officer and President in November 2012. Prior to joining Bazaarvoice, Offerdahl served as Chief Financial Officer of Convio, Inc. In addition to Convio, he led successful initial public offerings as Chief Financial Officer of both Tivoli Systems, Inc. and Pervasive Software, Inc. Offerdahl also served as Chief Operating Officer of Pervasive Software, where he expanded the worldwide sales organization, and was Chief Executive Officer and President of Traq-Wireless, Inc.
