SeaBright Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: SBX) announced that Neal A. Fuller has been appointed Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Secretary. He was most recently Senior Vice President and CFO of the ICW Group, a property-casualty insurance company in California. Prior to ICW, Mr. Fuller served as Senior Vice President-Finance and Treasurer of Safeco Corporation.
Savient Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: SVNT) announced the appointment of Kenneth J. Zuerblis as Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, succeeding David Gionco, Group Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, who has been offered a position to remain with the company. Most recently, Mr. Zuerblis served as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of ImClone Systems, which was acquired by Eli Lilly and Company in November 2008. Prior to ImClone, Mr. Zuerblis also served as Chief Financial Officer of Enzon Pharmaceuticals Inc. for 14 years. Mr. Zuerblis currently serves as a director on the boards of Immunomedics Inc., Resverlogix Corporation and The New Jersey Technology Council.
Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) appointed Janet Clark, executive vice president, treasurer, CFO and a member of the executive committee at Marathon Oil as a director of the company.
Qvidian announced that Jim Eliason has joined the company as Chief Financial Officer. Eliason was most recently CFO for Desktone, a privately held, venture-backed company. Earlier in his career, Eliason was CFO for Empirix and Narad Networks.
Genworth Financial, Inc. (NYSE: GNW) announced that it has named Amy R. Corbin Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of its Retirement and Protection segment. Corbin, joined Genworth in 2003 and has held a number of roles of increasing responsibility in financial management, most recently as Genworth’s Controller and Principal Accounting Officer.
Bruker Corporation (NASDAQ: BRKR) announced that William J. (‘Bill’) Knight will step back into the Chief Financial Officer role permanently, effective today. Bill Knight will also continue to serve as interim Chief Operating Officer.
USTC Holdings, LLC, the investor consortium that acquired Xe Services, LLC in December 2010, today named Doug Lee as Chief Financial Officer. Lee brings over 16 years of financial experience to Xe Services. Most recently, he spent four years as CFO at McNeil Technology. In 2010, Lee managed the finance and reporting transition process following McNeil’s acquisition by AECOM.
Interlink Electronics, Inc. (OTC: LINK.PK) a sensor technology company, announces Steven P. Leone has joined Interlink as its new CFO. Mr. Leone is the former Partner-In-Charge of KPMG LLP’s Information, Communications, and Entertainment Practice in the South Florida region.
Renmatix announced that Ellen Purdy, who last year was named “CFO of the Year” by the Philadelphia Business Journal, will fill the chief financial officer role as the company expands operations. Prior to joining Renmatix, Ellen Purdy served as CFO for SDI, serving the pharmaceutical and biotech markets.
Heliae announced the promotion of J. Craig Johnson to serve as the company’s chief financial officer. Johnson, 49, had served as Heliae’s vice president of finance since joining the company in March of 2011. Prior to joining Heliae he served in a variety of senior financial roles, including CFO, at rapidly growing private and public companies.
Sempra Energy (NYSE: SRE) announced that effective Oct. 1, Mark A. Snell will become president of Sempra Energy, overseeing the company’s infrastructure and international businesses. Snell, who currently serves as Sempra Energy’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, succeeds Neal E. Schmale in the role of president. Also effective Oct. 1, Joseph A. Householder will succeed Snell as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Sempra Energy. Householder currently serves as senior vice president, controller and chief accounting officer of the company. Householder has been senior vice president and controller of Sempra Energy since 2006. He joined Sempra Energy in 2001 as vice president of corporate tax. Previously, he was a partner in the national tax office of PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP and also held several key management positions at Unocal Corp.
Synacor announced the appointment of William J. Stuart as Chief Financial Officer. Most recently, Stuart served as CFO for Avici Systems, a publicly held supplier of core routers to ISPs, where he led the transition of the company from a hardware supplier to a software company re-branded as Soapstone Networks. Prior to that, Stuart was a partner at Still River Funds, a Boston-based venture capital firm. Previously, he was CFO for publicly held Telco Systems, and as CFO led the sale of two privately held telecom equipment suppliers, NetCore Systems and Broadband Access Systems.
Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company appointed Kevin Walker as the chief financial officer and member of the board of directors. Most recently, Walker was chief financial officer for Genworth Financial’s Retirement and Protection Division. Before Genworth, he spent 15 years within the Allianz Group. He held several positions over a 10 year period at Allianz Life, including treasurer, senior investment officer, and senior financial officer for product lines. He then worked for five years as a senior vice president in Group Planning and Controlling at Allianz SE in Munich.
Availity named Kelly Heape Parsons as its new Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President and Corporate Secretary, replacing Margaret Gomez, who is retiring after more than 10 years with the company. Most recently, Parsons was CFO for Mosaic Sales Solutions, a privately held marketing and merchandising company based in Dallas, Texas. Prior to that, she was CFO for Accenture HR Services, and previously had held finance leadership roles with Perot Systems.
Atrinsic, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATRN) a marketer of direct-to-consumer subscription products, including Kazaa ( www.kazaa.com ) — a digital music subscription service, and owner of an internet search marketing agency, Atrinsic Interactive, announced today that Nathan Fong has been named as its Chief Financial Officer. Most recently, Fong served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Orchard Enterprise, Inc., a privately owned company which was formerly public and listed on NASDAQ. Formerly, Fong was Chief Financial Officer of Rodale International. Fong also served as Chief Financial Officer of Discovery Networks International — the international division of Discovery Communications, Inc. Earlier in his career, he was Divisional Vice President of Finance at Twentieth Century Fox International.
Kabam(TM) , the leading developer of hardcore social games, announced it hired veteran financial leader Steve Klei, former founding CFO of Jigsaw Data Corporation, as Chief Financial Officer. Klei joins Kabam from Jigsaw Data Corporation, where as CFO he led the acquisition of the company by Salesforce.com. Previously, he was CFO at ZANTAZ. He was also founding CFO for ProBusiness Services.
Borders Group Inc. announced that Ojas Shah has been appointed chief financial officer and treasurer as the company prepares to shutter. Shah has served since January 2010 as a director of AlixPartners, the turnaround firm hired to provide financial restructuring and bankruptcy reorganization services to the Ann Arbor-based bookseller.
LaunchPoint named Ronald Webster as the Company’s first Chief Financial Officer. Most recently, Mr. Webster served as a Partner at Tatum, LLC, a leading executive services firm, where he served as interim CFO for companies with annual revenues ranging from $150 million to $350 million. Previously, Mr. Webster was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for NuVox Communications; Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, o2wireless Solutions; Senior Vice President, Central Region, RCN Corporation; Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, 21st Century Telecom Group; and Vice President and Corporate Treasurer, Telephone and Data Systems. Mr. Webster also worked at Trans Union Corporation and Arthur Andersen.
University of Michigan Health System (UMHS) announced that Paul Castillo will take his position as Chief Financial Officer on November 7, 2011. Castillo is currently the chief financial officer and vice president of finance at UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside, the flagship hospital of the health system associated with the University of Pittsburgh. Robin Damschroder who was interim CFO since February after serving as Controller since 2007, will now become associate director for operations and clinical services.
NTELOS Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ: NTLS) announced that Harold L. “Hal” Covert has been appointed as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer for Lumos Networks Corp. (Expected NASDAQ listing: LMOS), effective upon the spin-off of the Company’s wireline business into an independent, publicly traded company. Mr. Covert joins Lumos Networks with over twenty-seven years of experience as Chief Financial Officer for public and private technology companies. Prior to joining Lumos Networks, Mr. Covert most recently was Chief Financial Officer for Silicon Image, Inc. From 2005 to 2007, he was Chief Financial Officer for Openwave Systems, Inc. He has also previously served as Chief Financial Officer for Fortinet, Inc., Extreme Networks, Inc., Silicon Graphics, Inc., and Adobe Systems, Inc.
