Raj Viswanathan
Scotiabank [TORONTO] (TSX: BNS) announced the appointment of Rajagopal (Raj) Viswanathan as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective November 1, 2018. Raj succeeds Sean McGuckin, who announced in May that he would take a leave of absence to attend to an illness in his family. Sean will retire as Chief Financial Officer on October 31, though he will support the Bank during a transition period until December 31, 2018. Raj Viswanathan was appointed to the role of Acting Chief Financial Officer in June 2018. Raj joined Scotiabank in 2002 and has held progressively senior positions in Internal Audit and Finance since that time. In 2014, Raj was appointed Senior Vice President & Chief Accountant.
Acerus Pharmaceuticals Corporation [TORONTO] (TSX: ASP) announced that Robert M. Motz will join the Company as Chief Financial Officer. The Company also announced that Ken Yoon, the Company’s current Chief Financial Officer, has decided to leave Acerus. Motz joins the company from Hydrogenics Corporation. Prior to joining Hydrogenics, Mr. Motz served as President and CEO and Senior Vice President and CFO of Aeroquest International Limited.
NXT Energy Solutions Inc. [CALGARY] (TSX: SFD; OTCQB: NSFDF) announced that Jakub Brogowski, Chief Financial Officer, has informed the Company of his intention to resign from his position. Eugene Woychyshyn, who currently consults to NXT on the preparation of financials and other matters, has agreed to serve as Interim CFO.
Avante Logixx Inc. [TORONTO] (TSX-V: XX) announced the appointment of Francis Michaud as Avante’s Senior Vice President, Finance and Interim CFO. Prior to joining Avante, Francis served as Chief Executive Officer at HighCom Global Security, he worked with Avante leadership as Chief Financial Officer at Total Security Management prior to its acquisition by GardaWorld Security, and he led the financial planning group at Home Depot. Current CFO Raghu Sampath will aid with the transition of responsibilities to Mr. Michaud which is expected to be completed by November 15, 2018.
FluroTech Ltd. [Calgary] (TSX-V: TEST) introduced Curtis Smith as Chief Financial Officer taking over responsibilities from Gary Jones, who has been appointed Vice President of Business Development. Smith led the finance team at Eguana Technologies Inc.
Bluenose Gold Corp. [VANCOUVER] (TSXV: BN.H) announced the appointment of Joanna Vastardis as Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary following the resignation of Gwendolyn Wegner.
Bayshore Petroleum Corp. [CALGARY] announced the appointment of Lance Mierendorf as Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) of the Company. Peter Ho, previously acting CFO, will continue in the role of CEO. Prior to joining Bayshore, Mr. Mierendorf was CFO for Wentworth Resources Limited and prior to that, CFO of Sonoro Energy Ltd.
