Alain Leprohon
Desjardins [MONTREAL] announced that Réal Bellemare, formerly Executive Vice-President of Finance, Treasury and Administration and Chief Financial Officer, has been promoted to the role of Senior Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Desjardins. Bellemare will also be serving as interim Executive Vice-President of Information Technology. Alain Leprohon has been appointed Executive Vice-President of Finance, Treasury and Administration and Chief Financial Officer. Leprohon has been with Desjardins Group since 2002, holding a variety of finance roles over the years. He most recently served as Vice-President of Finance.
Roots [TORONTO] (TSX: ROOT) announced that Mona Kennedy has been named Chief Financial Officer, effective by the end of Q1 fiscal 2020. Kennedy is assuming the Chief Financial Officer role from Meghan Roach, Managing Director at Searchlight Capital Partners, who has been acting as Interim Chief Financial Officer since August 9, 2019. Kennedy joins Roots from Indigo Books & Music Inc. where she was Vice President, Finance. Prior to indigo, she was at Maple Leaf Food Inc., where she spent more than a decade, and held increasingly senior roles in areas including corporate strategy, strategy execution and financial planning and analysis.
Sierra Wireless [VANCOUVER] (NASDAQ: SWIR, TSX: SW) announced that Dave McLennan has decided it is time to retire as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The Company expects to complete the transition by the middle of 2020.
Repare Therapeutics [CAMBRIDGE, MA and MONTREAL, QUEBEC] announced that Steve Forte is appointed as Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. Forte was CFO of Clementia Pharmaceuticals until its recent sale to Ipsen. His experience includes nearly a decade at Aptalis Pharma Inc., where he was responsible for the overall corporate controllership function. Prior to Clementia, Steve was CFO of Thinking Capital Financial Corporation.
NFI Group Inc. [WINNIPEG] (TSX: NFI) announced the selection of Pipasu H. Soni as NFI’s next Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”). Soni joins NFI as Executive Vice President, Finance in a transition role that will lead to him becoming Executive Vice President and CFO on or prior to March 30, 2020. Soni will succeed Glenn Asham who is retiring after 28 years of service with the Company, fifteen of which were as CFO. Most recently, Pipasu served as an Officer of United States Steel Corporation in a variety of financial leadership roles including Vice President, Performance Management & Analytics, Vice President, Finance, and Interim CFO. Prior to that, Pipasu held wide-ranging financial and strategy leadership roles in financial planning and analysis, global and divisional finance, business transformation, plant controllership, strategic planning, and corporate development at Pentair and Honeywell International. He began his career at Ingersoll-Rand in manufacturing and design engineering roles.
NorZinc Ltd. [VANCOUVER] (TSX: NZC; OTCQB: NORZF) announced the appointment of Peter Portka as Chief Financial Officer, to replace Trevor Cunningham, who will be leaving the Company to pursue new opportunities. Portka was most recently VP Finance of Quintana Resources Capital, a position he held since 2014. Prior to Quintana, Peter was Corporate Controller and Manager, Corporate Development at Sandstorm Gold Royalties.
Obsidian Energy Ltd. [CALGARY] (TSX: OBE, NYSE: OBE.BC) announced the appointment of Peter Scott as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, replacing David Hendry. Scott’s most recent public company role was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Lightstream Resources Ltd.
Rapid Dose Therapeutics Corp. [BURLINGTON, Ontario] (CSE: DOSE) announced that Ian Fodie, the current Chief Financial Officer of the Corporation, has resigned with an ending date of December 10, 2019. Effective December 11, 2019, Miles Nagamatsu will be re-joining the Corporation as the interim Chief Financial Officer. Nagamatsu served as Chief Financial Officer of ACME Resources Inc., a predecessor corporation prior to the completion of that company’s reverse take-over transaction and business combination with Rapid Dose Therapeutics Inc.
Dalmac Energy Inc. [EDMONTON] (TSX-V: DAL) announced that Su Chun has resigned as the chief financial officer of Dalmac Energy Inc. John Babic, president and chief executive officer, will assume the responsibilities of chief financial officer on an interim basis.
Organic Garage Ltd. [TORONTO] (TSX-V: OG) announced that Nelson Lamb has been appointed as its new Chief Financial Officer. Since 2015, Lamb has been Manager of Accounting Services at PubCo Reporting Solutions. Lamb replaces Paul Mason, its previous Chief Financial Officer.
Canadian Metals Inc. [MONTRÉAL] (CSE: CME) announced the resignation of Patsie Ducharme as Chief Financial Officer.
Harborside Inc. [OAKLAND, CA and TORONTO, Ontario] (CSE: HBOR) announced that it has appointed Tom DiGiovanni as Chief Financial Officer. Keith Li will remain with the Company as the Vice President of Finance. DiGiovanni most recently was a founding partner and the CFO at Canndescent. Prior to joining Canndescent, DiGiovanni served in multiple executive roles in finance and operations, including as CFO of Mainstream Energy.
