Wajax Corporation [TORONTO] announced the resignation of Darren Yaworsky, Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Yaworsky will remain with the Corporation until the release of its 2019 first quarter financial results.
Badger Daylighting Ltd. [CALGARY] (TSX: BAD) announced the appointment of Darren Yaworsky as its Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”), effective June 3, 2019. Darren joins the Company from Wajax Corporation, where he was Senior Vice President, Finance and CFO. Darren has held a series of progressively senior corporate finance, treasury, accounting and tax roles at Enbridge Inc., Canadian Pacific Railway and Wajax Corporation. His early career was in capital markets, corporate finance, risk management and operations at two major Canadian banks. Darren succeeds Gerald (Jerry) Schiefelbein whom, as previously announced in December 2018, has elected to retire.
Coro Mining Corp. [VANCOUVER] (TSX: COP) announced the appointment of Leonardo Araya Muñoz as the new CFO of the Company replacing Armando Véliz. Mr Araya has worked across a range of industries in senior finance and corporate finance management and board positions, notably as the head of finance for South America at SGS prior to joining Coro.
Upco International Inc. [Vancouver] (CSE: UPCO, OTCQB: UCCPF) announced that it has appointed Gert-Jan Geels as the Chief Financial Officer. Geels was a private banker at Delta Lloyd Bank from 1996 to 1999. From 1999 to 2012 he was an asset manager at Eureffect Asset Management. Geels is the CEO of Bullfinch Ltd. Mr. Geels also served as a compliance officer for one of the largest Dutch precious metal traders.
Rapid Dose Therapeutics Corp. [BURLINGTON, ON] (CSE: DOSE), announced that Ian Fodie has been appointed Chief Financial Officer. Fodie replaces Lino Fera, as part of the planned transition process. Most recently, Fodie acted as the CFO of Green Growth Brands Ltd. His experience also includes CFO of First Bauxite Corporation and Lithium Americas Corp., President & CEO of Oriental Minerals Inc. (now Woulfe Mining Corp.), and CFO of Longview Capital Partners Inc. (now Resinco Capital Partners Inc.).
GLG Life Tech Corporation [VANCOUVER] (TSX: GLG) announced its appointment of Eric Finnsson as its new Chief Financial Officer. Finnsson brings a wealth of over 30 years of international finance experience to GLG, including over 25 years with KPMG in Canada, Europe, and China. Finnsson was an audit partner with KPMG in China during his 14 years in China.
Zenabis Global Inc. [VANCOUVER] (TSX-V: ZENA) announced the appointment of Michael Smyth as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective May 14, 2019. Most recently, Smyth provided management advisory services to various companies including as interim CFO at a BC greenhouse grower. Previously, he reported to the Chief Executive Officer of global fund manager Lionhart Canada Limited in Toronto. In his career, Mr. Smyth has worked as Treasurer for Bell Canada in Montreal and played a key role on the financial risk advisory team at KPMG. Smyth’s appointment will be effective on May 14, 2019, and he will take over from current CFO, John Hoekstra, who will be returning to his position as Bevo Farms Ltd.’s Chief Financial Officer at that time.
