DAVIDsTEA Inc. [MONTREAL] (NASDAQ: DTEA) announced that Howard Tafler, Chief Financial Officer, has tendered his resignation in order to accept a position in another industry. The resignation takes effect in 30 days. Joe Bongiorno, Director of Finance of DAVIDsTEA, has been appointed as Interim Chief Financial Officer.
Foresters Financial™ [TORONTO] announced the appointment of Alvin Sharma as our new Global Chief Financial Officer, effective September 17, 2018. Sharma was most recently with Echelon Insurance where he is Chief Financial Officer. Alvin also has extensive life insurance and asset management experience in the U.S., the U.K. and Canada.
Echelon Financial Holdings Inc. [TORONTO] (TSX: EFH) announced the resignation of Alvin Sharma as Echelon’s Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Company’s Senior Management team. After nearly six years with the Company, Mr. Sharma has decided to pursue another opportunity as a CFO in the life insurance industry. Mr. Sharma’s resignation is effective September 14th. Patrick Espeut, Vice President of Finance and Corporate Controller, will act as interim CFO for the Company.
Stantec [EDMONTON & NEW YORK] (TSX: STN, NYSE: STN) announced that following a successful 10-year tenure as the Company’s executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO), Dan Lefaivre will retire from the CFO role, effective December 31, 2018 as part of a planned executive leadership succession strategy. The firm also announced today that Theresa Jang will join Stantec on September 10, 2018 as executive vice president; she will take on the CFO role effective January 1, 2019. Jang was previously the CFO of Veresen Inc. Jang began her career at Ernst & Young, followed by positions at TransCanada Corporation and Veresen Inc. She was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for Bonavista Energy Corporation and will retain that position after joining Stantec.
Central 1 Credit Union [VANCOUVER] announced the appointment of Sheila Vokey to the role of Chief Financial Officer. Vokey will begin her role at Central 1 effective October 9, 2018. Prior to her time in her most recent role as Chief Financial Officer at Payments Canada (a secondment from the Bank of Canada), Vokey was Chief Risk Officer and Advisor to the Governor at Bank of Canada; she has also held the role of Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer at the Canadian Tourism Commission.
AutoCanada Inc. [EDMONTON] (TSX: ACQ) announced that Raj Juneja has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer and Michael Cunningham has been appointed as Vice-President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer, United States. Mr. Juneja was previously a senior partner with Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP. Mr. Cunningham was previously the Chief Financial Officer of Potamkin Automotive Group, one of the largest automotive dealer groups in the United States. He was also previously the Vice President, Finance Western Region of AutoNation, overseeing over 70 dealer locations.
Rex Opportunity Corp. [Toronto] announced the appointment of Olin Reid as a Director and Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Mr. Olin Reid is a finance professional with experience in the Mining, Construction and Investment Banking industries.
