Monarch Private Capital (MPC) [ATLANTA] announced that Ian Chomat has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer for the organization. Chomat moves into the role after serving as the Controller. Prior to joining MPC, Chomat worked as Controller for a company which specialized in the development, construction, and syndication of low income housing tax credits. He’s held various positions including Chief Financial Officer and was a consultant for both privately held and publicly traded companies. Chomat’s career began in public accounting where he practiced both tax and assurance services for privately held companies.
Ameresco, Inc. [FRAMINGHAM, MA] (NYSE: AMRC) announced that Doran Hole will join the company as its Chief Financial Officer, effective July 29, 2019. Mark Chiplock, who has served as interim CFO since October 1, 2018, will continue to serve as Vice President, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer and will act as the company’s principal accounting officer. Previously, Mr. Hole served as the Chief Executive Officer, North America and Group Vice President, Strategy, at ReneSola Ltd. He has served in the North American CEO role since 2017, and previously was the company’s US CFO. Prior to ReneSola, Mr. Hole was the CFO at solar developer Pristine Sun. He spent the first two decades of his career in various senior finance and capital markets roles on Wall Street. At Deutsche Bank, he served as a Director in the Global Structuring, Illiquid and Corporate Credit Group. He was a Director in the Financial Engineering group at ING Capital and also served as an Associate Director in the Corporate and Structured Finance Division at Macquarie Corporate Finance. Earlier in his career, Mr. Hole worked at Coopers & Lybrand, L.L.P. and Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc.
Viela Bio [GAITHERSBURG, MD] announced the appointment of Mitchell Chan as Chief Financial Officer. Previously, Chan served as Viela’s Vice President, Head of Finance & Corporate Strategy. Prior to joining Viela in 2018, he served as Director of Investor Relations for AstraZeneca, North America. Previously, Mr. Chan held various roles of increasing responsibility at Genentech-Roche, including in BioOncology Commercial Finance, R&D Finance, and Mergers & Acquisitions.
L3Harris Technologies [MELBOURNE, FL] (NYSE: LHX) named Jesus “Jay” Malave, Jr. as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Malave was elected CFO of the new L3Harris following the close of the merger between L3 and Harris, and succeeds former L3 and Harris CFOs, Ralph D’Ambrosio and Rahul Ghai, who have decided for personal reasons to pursue new opportunities. Malave joins L3Harris from United Technologies Corporation, where he spent more than 20 years in roles of increasing responsibility, including VP & CFO of the UTC Aerospace Systems business; VP, Financial Planning & Treasury at Hamilton Sundstrand; four years as VP, Investor Relations; and most recently as VP & CFO of the Carrier business segment. .
Terns Pharmaceuticals, Inc. [FOSTER CITY, California & SHANGHAI] announced the appointment of Ankang Li as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Terns, Dr. Li was the Executive Director of Healthcare Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs, where he was responsible for Asia ex-Japan investment banking and led many high-profile IPOs for biotechnology and other healthcare clients. Before that, Dr. Li was a Director at the Asia Pacific Innovation Hub at Merck (known as MSD outside the U.S. and Canada), overseeing business development and licensing transactions in the region. Dr. Li also worked at both Davis Polk and Ropes & Gray, advising clients on capital markets and M&A transactions. Early in his career, he conducted biomedical research at the Salk Institute.
Commercial Metals Company [IRVING, TX] (NYSE: CMC) announced that Mary A. Lindsey has announced her retirement as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Company effective as of August 31, 2019. Lindsey joined the Company in September 2009 as Vice President-Tax. She was appointed Vice President-Tax and Investor Relations in June 2015, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in January 2016 and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in September 2017. The Company also announced that effective September 1, 2019, Paul J. Lawrence will assume the role of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the Company. Lawrence joined the Company in February 2016 as Vice President of Finance. He was appointed Vice President of Finance and Treasurer in September 2016 and his role was expanded to include Financial Planning and Analysis in January 2017. Prior to joining the Company, from 2003 to 2016, Mr. Lawrence worked for both Gerdau Long Steel North America, , and Gerdau Ameristeel Corporation, where he held a variety of financial roles, including Assistant Vice President and Corporate Controller, and Deputy Corporate Controller. From 1998 to 2002, Mr. Lawrence held several financial positions with Co-Steel Inc., which was acquired by Gerdau SA.
DISH Network [ENGLEWOOD, CO] promoted Paul W. Orban to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Orban, a 23-year veteran of DISH, had served as the company’s Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer, Principal Financial Officer and Controller. Orban joined DISH in 1996 as a member of the financial reporting team. He has since held various leadership positions with increasing responsibility including Director of Accounting and Vice President of Accounting. In 2006, Orban was named Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller for DISH. He also served as Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller at EchoStar Corporation from 2008 to 2012. Before joining DISH, Paul was an auditor at Arthur Andersen LLP. A CPA, Paul holds his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Colorado.
Kirkland’s, Inc. [NASHVILLE, TN] (NASDAQ: KIRK) announced that it has named Nicole Strain as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. She has served as Kirkland’s Interim Chief Financial Officer since May 2017. Prior to her appointment as Interim Chief Financial Officer, Strain served as Controller from November 2016 to April 2017. Prior to joining Kirkland’s, she served as the Vice President of Finance and Principal Accounting Officer for Logan’s Roadhouse, Inc., from 2005 through July 2015. While at Logan’s, she also served as the Interim Chief Financial Officer and Principal Financial Officer.
Alleghany Corporation [NEW YORK] (NYSE:Y) today announced that Jack Sennott has been appointed Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Alleghany’s wholly-owned subsidiary, CapSpecialty, Inc. Sennott previously served as Senior Vice President and chief financial officer of Alleghany. Kerry Jacobs has been appointed Senior Vice President and chief financial officer of Alleghany. Ms. Jacobs previously served as Alleghany’s Vice President of Finance and Chief Risk Officer.
Neuronetics , Inc. [MALVERN, PA] (NASDAQ: STIM) announced that Stephen Furlong will become its new Chief Financial Officer and Secretary, replacing Peter Donato, who will be leaving the Company after a transition period. Mr. Furlong will assume the role of CFO and Secretary effective July 22, 2019. Furlong most recently served as Senior Vice President of Finance and Corporate Secretary at Metabolon. Prior to joining Metabolon, Furlong served as Chief Financial Officer of Rapid Micro Biosystems. Before joining Rapid Micro Biosystems, Mr. Furlong spent 14 years at Hologic, where he held a number of roles of increasing responsibility, most recently Senior Vice President, Finance and Sales Administration. Additionally, Mr. Furlong held positions at Safety 1st, Stratus Computer Inc., and Raytheon Company.
Greenfields Petroleum Corporation [HOUSTON, Texas] (TSX VENTURE: GNF) announces the appointment of a new Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. Jose Perez-Bello, who has served as the Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Greenfields since June 2017 and a director of the Company since 2018, stepped down from these roles with the Company. Sanjay Swarup has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. Swarup is based in London, and is also Chief Executive Officer of SKS Business Services Limited, an accounting and audit group that specializes in providing an outsourced finance function to small and mid-size companies in diverse sectors, unlisted or listed in the UK and Canada. Swarup has worked in the planning department of the Exploration and Production division of BP plc at their head office in London.
TRI Pointe Group [IRVINE, Calif.] (NYSE: TPH) announced that Mike Grubbs, co-founder, chief financial officer and treasurer, will retire on January 1, 2020, concluding a 32-year career in homebuilding and real estate finance. Grubbs will be succeeded by Glenn Keeler, current chief accounting officer, also effective January 1, 2020. Keeler joined TRI Pointe in 2013 as corporate controller, and was named chief accounting officer in 2014. Keeler started his career at Ernst & Young LLP and previously held executive finance roles with other publicly traded companies prior to joining TRI Pointe Group.
Francesca’s Holdings Corporation [HOUSTON, TX] (NASDAQ: FRAN) announced that Kelly Dilts, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, has informed the Company of her plans to resign from her position effective July 19, 2019 to pursue another opportunity. The Company has named Cindy Thomassee, currently serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer, to assume the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Cindy joined the Company in December 2007 after serving as the Controller at LRG Furniture, LLC, a retail subsidiary of Bassett Furniture Industries, for over 8 years. She also previously served as the Company’s Interim Chief Financial Officer from May 2012 to March 2013 and from December 2015 to April 2016.
Corporate Spending Innovations [BONITA SPRINGS, FL] (CSI) announced the appointment of Olivier Raguis as the Chief Financial Officer. Raguis joins CSI in continuity of his extensive experience as Chief Financial Officer of several Edenred business units since 2010.
Bridgeline Digital, Inc. [BURLINGTON, MA] (NASDAQ: BLIN) announced the appointment of Mark G. Downey as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of the Company(“CFO”). Downey comes to Bridgeline with more than 25 years of finance and operations experience and has held CFO and COO positions at several public and privately held companies. Mark began his career as a CPA with Coopers & Lybrand. Downey will succeed Carole Tyner, who has served as Bridgeline’s Chief Financial Officer since September 2018.
