Macy’s, Inc. [NEW YORK] (NYSE: M) announced that Paula Price, executive vice president and chief financial officer, has made the decision to leave the company as of May 31, 2020. She will continue in her current role until that date, and in order to support a well-ordered transition, Price will remain an advisor to the company through November 2020. Price has served in her current role with Macy’s, Inc since July 2018.
Reputation.com [REDWOOD CITY, CA] named Amir Jafari as the company’s new CFO. Jafari most recently spent five years at ServiceNow, where he helped create the Finance and Legal business unit, which he ultimately led as the VP and general manager. Prior to this, he served as the company’s vice president of finance and corporate controller. Jafari also served as senior director of finance and assistant controller at Atmel Corp., and director of financial planning and analysis at InvenSense. Jafari has also held financial positions at Magellan Navigation, AppliedMicro and Memec.
Clearwater Paper Corporation [SPOKANE, WA] (NYSE: CLW) announced the appointment of Michael (Mike) J. Murphy as senior vice president and chief financial officer, succeeding Robert (Bob) G. Hrivnak who will be leaving the company.Murphy joins Clearwater Paper from NxEdge, Inc., where he served as CFO. Prior to NxEdge, he held senior finance, risk management, and strategy positions with Kapstone Paper and Packaging and Boise, Inc. In addition to his industry experience, Mr. Murphy has over 17 years in investment banking with J.P. Morgan Securities and John Nuveen & Co.
Delek US Holdings, Inc. [BRENTWOOD, TN] (NYSE: DK) and Delek Logistics Partners, LP (NYSE: DKL) announced that Reuven Spiegel will be appointed EVP and assume the role of CFO following the departure of Assi Ginzburg in May. Spiegel has served as a member of the Board of our general partner since July 2014, as a member of the Audit Committee and Conflicts Committee since September 2014 and as a member of the EHS Committee since its inception in October 2016. Prior to joining the Board, Spiegel served as Chief Executive Officer of Israel Discount Bank Ltd. from 2011 through 2014 where he had previously held the position of Executive Vice President from 2001 through 2005. Mr. Spiegel also served as Chief Executive Officer of IDB Bank of NY from 2006 to 2010. He also has experience as an executive in the real estate industry. Spiegel will maintain his position on the Board of DKL and Assi Ginzburg will assist in transitioning responsibilities to Spiegel through first quarter results.
Engage3 [DAVIS, CA] announced that Robert Andrews has joined the team as its new Chief Financial Officer. Andrews has spent more than fifteen years in SaaS companies as CFO and COO in industries as varied as manufacturing and biotech. Some of the companies he has worked for include Worcester Controls Corporation, iRobot Corporation, and Mirror Image Internet.
Xilinx, Inc. [SAN JOSE, CA] (NASDAQ: XLNX) announced it has appointed Brice Hill to the position of executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO). Hill joins Xilinx from a 25-year tenure at Intel Corporation, where he most recently served as the CFO and COO, Technology, Systems and Core Engineering Group. Prior to that, Hill was Corporate Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Business Unit finance, including the Data Center, PC, and IoT business units. Hill had also previously held senior finance roles in capacity strategy, PC desktop and chipsets, and the data center at Intel. Prior to Intel, Hill worked at General Motors Corporation where he held various finance positions.
Erie Street [CHICAGO] announced the hire of Matt Hallgren as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Erie Street, Matt served as Chief Financial Officer of Glencoe Capital. Prior to that, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Press Ganey, and has also held leadership roles at Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc., Boeing, and Deloitte.
Core BTS [NEW YORK] added Kevin Thimjon as chief financial officer. Prior to joining Core, Thimjon served as executive vice president, chief financial officer and chief operating officer for Lids Sports Group. Prior to Lids Sports Group, Thimjon served in executive leadership roles for a variety of organizations, including chief financial officer and chief administrative officer of Just Marketing, Inc., president and chief financial officer of Bell Industries, Inc. and executive vice president, chief financial officer and chief operating officer of ISR Solutions, Inc.
K12 Inc. [HERNDON, Va.] (NYSE: LRN) announced the appointment of Timothy Medina as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) while James Rhyu will take on the newly formed role of President – Corporate Strategy, Marketing, and Technology. Rhyu has served as K12’s Chief Financial Officer since 2013 and was performing the dual roles of CFO and President of Products and Technology. Medina most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of TPx Communications. Prior to his role at TPx Communications, Medina served as CFO of ECI Conference Call Services. He has also served as CFO, and in senior leadership positions for Independent Wireless One Holdings, Verizon Communications, CTI Holdings, CANTV, and GTE Corporation.
Hydrofarm Holdings Group, Inc. [PETALUMA, CA] announced the appointment of B. John Lindeman as its new Chief Financial Officer. Lindeman most recently he served as chief financial officer and corporate secretary at Calavo Growers, Inc. Prior to joining Calavo in 2015, he held various leadership positions within the finance and investment banking industries, including serving as managing director at Sageworth Trust Company, managing director and co-head of the consumer and retail group at Janney Montgomery Scott, managing director at Stifel Nicolaus and principal at Legg Mason. Prior to joining Legg Mason, he was a Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
Orchid Underwriters Agency, LLC [VERO BEACH, FL] appointed Michael Garamoni as Chief Financial Officer. Garamoni has spent the past 13 years in finance, reporting and planning, which included roles as Vice President of Global Finance for Ryan Specialty Group, LLC., and at Pricewaterhouse Coopers, LLP.
Morphic Therapeutic [WALTHAM, MA] (NASDAQ: MORF) announced the appointment of Marc Schegerin, M.D., as chief financial officer and chief operating officer. Dr. Schegerin was most recently chief financial officer of ArQule. Prior to this role, Dr. Schegerin served in various senior healthcare investment banking roles at CitiGroup and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Gannett Co., Inc. [MCLEAN, VA] (NYSE: GCI) announced the appointment of Douglas E. Horne as our new Chief Financial Officer. Most recently, Horne served as Global Controller for The We Company (WeWork). He previously spent eight years at Warner Media LLC (formerly Time Warner Inc.), most recently as Senior Vice President and Controller. Before joining Warner Media LLC, he served as Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer for AOL Inc.
SmartDrive Systems [SAN DIEGO] announced the appointment of Christopher Saunders as chief financial officer (CFO). Most recently CFO at Capsule Technologies, Saunders previously held senior level and CFO responsibilities for a variety of Qualcomm companies, including Qualcomm Life, Snaptracs, Qualcomm Labs, FLO TV and Qualcomm Ventures over a 14-year period. Prior to Qualcomm, he was vice president of finance at SupplyPro.
Taro Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. [HAWTHORNE, NY] (NYSE: TARO) announced the appointment of Daphne Huang as Vice President, CFO and Chief Accounting Officer. Huang has over 20 years of senior executive experience in finance; most recently serving as Chief Financial Officer at Humanwell Healthcare USA & Puracap International. Prior to Humanwell, Huang held progressively responsible positions in the financial service sector and debt capital markets working for companies such as PriceWaterhouseCoopers, FleetBoston, GE Capital and HSBC.
CallisonRTKL [Washington, DC] announced that Ashraf M. Fahmy joined the practice as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Fahmy joins CallisonRTKL from CHA Inc. in Atlanta where he was Senior Vice President of Finance. Prior to his time with CHA Inc. he was CFO of International Engineering and Construction for AMEC Foster Wheeler and Regional Controller for URS Corporation.
GTT Communications, Inc. [MCLEAN, VA] (NYSE: GTT) announced that Steven Berns has joined the GTT leadership team as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining GTT, he served as Co-Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Shutterstock. Prior to his tenure at Shutterstock, Berns served in several executive leadership roles, including as Chief Financial Officer at the Tribune Media Company, and Revlon.
Bigfinite, Inc. [SAN FRANCISCO] announced that David Merino has been named Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Before joining Bigfinite as CFO, David Merino was the Managing Director for Novartis Integrated Services Limited, after spending five years as part of their Corporate CFO Leadership program. Prior to that, he served as CFO for Novartis Ringaskiddy Limited.
Columbia Banking System, Inc. [TACOMA, WA] and Columbia Bank (NASDAQ: COLB) announced that Aaron Deer has been appointed Columbia’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective on or before April 30, 2020. Deer’s appointment is the result of an extensive national search following the departure of Greg Sigrist in February 2020. Deer was most recently a Managing Director and Senior Research Analyst at Piper Sandler. Prior to Piper Sandler, Deer provided research coverage on a variety of regional and national banks for RBC Capital Markets, and he supervised research and valuation teams for a middle-market M&A boutique. Mr. Deer began his career serving in a variety of frontline and back-office positions at community banks.
Kemin Industries [DES MOINES, IA] appointed Patrick Wood, formerly Vice President of Finance for Kemin Nutrisurance, as Chief Financial Officer. Wood joined Kemin in 2013 as a senior accountant before becoming an accounting manager a year later. The following year, he was promoted to controller for Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health – North America, and in 2015 became finance director for the business unit. In 2018, Wood took on the position of Vice President of Finance for Kemin Nutrisurance. Wood succeeds Tammi Guldenpfennig, a longtime Kemin leader who spent 30 years with the company.
Cynosure, LLC [WESTFORD, MA] announced the appointment of David Long as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. Until recently, Long served as CFO at Corindus Vascular Robotics, Inc. Prior to his time at Corindus, Long spent nearly a decade at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where he held the position of Vice President of Finance of the Laboratory Equipment Division.
Aludyne [SOUTHFIELD, MI] announced that Conrad M. Hein has joined the company as Chief Financial Officer. Most recently, Hein served as the Vice President of Finance – Global Manufacturing and Vice President of Finance – North America for Cooper Standard.
Ebix, Inc. [JOHNS CREEK, GA] (NASDAQ: EBIX) announced an addition to its leadership team with the appointment of Steven M. Hamil (Steve) as Executive Vice President and Global Chief Financial Officer. Hamil joins Ebix from Regions Financial Corporation where he began in 2013 as Senior Vice President and Managing Director. Hamil has extensive experience in banking and capital markets with NationsBanc Capital Markets (now Bank of America) and Wachovia Capital Markets (Wells Fargo). Through his career, Hamil has held senior financial and accounting leadership roles as Vice President and Controller and subsequently being appointed to Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer of Movie Gallery, Inc. Robert Kerris, former CFO, will remain with the company reporting to Mr. Hamil and will oversee Ebix’s SEC reporting and financial planning and analysis.
Duolingo [PITTSBURGH] announced the appointment of Matt Skaruppa as the company’s first Chief Financial Officer. Skaruppa comes to Duolingo with more than 15 years of finance and operations experience, most recently as a senior member of Goldman Sachs Investment Partners. Prior to that, he spent five years as an operating executive for KKR Capstone.
PJ SOLOMON [NEW YORK], a leading financial advisory firm and independently operated affiliate of Natixis, announced that Andrew Fascia has joined as the firm’s new Chief Financial Officer. Fascia most recently served as Chief Financial Officer of boutique investment bank Greentech Capital Advisors. Prior to that, he was a senior associate in the finance team at Citadel Investment Group. He began his career in audit at Ernst & Young.
